Company Profile

LB HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING CO. was started by Bob Lausic in 1972 as a one man show. Bob had already been in the industry a number of years working for a variety of heating contractors in both the oil and gas heating market as an installer. During this period, he worked towards his Provincial certificates as a Gas Technician, Oil Technician, Sheet Metal Worker, and Heat Loss/Gain Calculator. Finally, Bob decided to throw his hat in the ring and start up his own company in the early 70s. In those days, Bob was the salesman, installer and service technician. With hard work and a little luck, LB HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING CO. joined Consumers Gas in 1975 as an Authorized Consumers Gas Dealer. This new association provided many new opportunities to LB HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING CO. One of the starkest examples was the Rental Water Heater program of the late 80s and early 90s. During this period, LB HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING CO. average 800 installations per year of Rental Water Heaters.

In 1999, with the market deregulating and/or “debundling”, LB HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING CO. entered a new stage of its development. With debundling, the Authorized Dealership program was cancelled, and many questions about the future were asked. Instead of panicking, LB HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING CO. decided to go back to our customers. A database was accumulated of all past customers so the company could be more responsive to customers when they called. Media and Advertising was ratcheted up to encourage new customers to call. A 24 Hour Service department was started to fill in the gap left when the Authorized Dealership and Service Contractor program were cancelled by Consumers Gas. It was at this time LB HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING CO. also decided to join HRAI (Heating Refrigeration Air Conditioning Institute of Canada). This new membership provided a whole new perspective of what was and is going on in the industry. For our customer, what it has meant the most is LB HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING CO. can provide the inside knowledge of where the industry is going before it takes off.
